SERVICES & SERMONS

"I think of a church service as being an island of peace.  A place to come to be renewed and refreshed and inspired.  A place to prepare for life's challenges and struggles, as well as a place  to recommit to carrying out the teachings and the love of Jesus Christ."

-Kathleen Creighton-Fuchs, Author, KUMC Member

FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

Romans 1:20 (English Standard Version)
“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in things that have been made.”
Matthew 6:26 (ESV)
“Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.”

Is it Spring yet? We’re new enough to the community that we’re still trying to figure it out. We know this has been an unusually dry winter with little to no snowfall or rain and that waterways are lower and there aren’t the variety of flowers covering the mountainside. The cooler temperatures also have us guessing. I think we’re going to need one of you who have lived here longer to point out the signs of Spring.
One of our last springs in MN, we had the privilege of watching the unfolding of new life on our deck where a Robin chose to build her nest. We were thrilled to watch that incredible display of God’s creation in the preparation, nesting and care of four little fuzzy/feathery creatures. We shared this experience with our next door neighbors, a family of three young boys, who also enjoyed chronicling the progression of that event.

I’m sure I sound like the city woman that I am getting so excited about such things, but I trust that all of us take time to appreciate the unique beauty and splendor of this area surrounded by the little miracles that so vividly remind us of who God is and God’s wonderful care over this earth. May we always have eyes to see, ears to hear, and thankful, grateful hearts.

Praying a joyous, happy Spring as we participate in being able to continue Sunday worship, and fellowship times with less and less restrictions! Come and join us if you haven’t!!
