ABOUT US

Welcome to the Kern River United Methodist Church, where the River of God’s love runs deep and wide.

The congregations of Highland Chapel and Kernville United Methodist Churches have been serving Christ in our community since 1870 and along with Weldon United Methodist Church, are the oldest established churches in the Kern River Valley. As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, we continue to reach out to those seeking a faith home for themselves and their families. We believe our church is a growing family - growing in numbers, growing in spirit and growing in service.

Although we are once again able to worship together in person, we are also fortunate to have wonderful recorded worship services, led by our pastor, Rev. Jean Sidner, and produced by her husband, Art. These services are posted on YouTube and can be accessed via our Facebook page, Kern River United Methodist Church. We are also now able to have in-person meetings of both our Methodist Men's Group, which meets for breakfast at a local restaurant on the second Friday of the month, and Ladies Tea Time, which gathers in the church social hall on the second Thursday of the month.  We hope you will come and join us!
